As the devastating Foot and Mouth disease epidemic of 2001 rips through the English countryside Michael’s farm becomes a battleground as his business, his heritage and his friendship with local vet Jeff come under intense threat. Ten years on and the battle scars are as evident on the landscape as they are on their relationship.

Directed by Paul Robinson, designed by Max Dorey with lighting design by Sally Ferguson, original music by Olly Fox and sound design by Max Perryment.

We were delighted to be joined by David Fielder and Nigel Hastings in the roles of Michael and Jeff for the 2016 tour and by Finlay Welsh in the role of Michael for the 2017 tour. 


And Then Come The Nightjars was originally a co-production from Theatre503 and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre supported by the Richard Carne Trust, the London Community Foundation and Cockayne – Grants for the Arts. The 2016 tour was presented by Theatre503 and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre in association with Tara Finney productions. The 2017 tour is additionally presented by Perth Theatre in partnership with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick.

A gaudy and gorgeous new romantic comedy from Bea Roberts and Pins and Needles Productions. Originally commissioned by the Lyric Hammersmith for the ‘Lyric on Tour’ summer season 2013. 

 Ackerley Addaneye had an eye for the girls and then some. Like a Plymouthian Don Juan, back in the day Ackerley and his trusty ice cream van ruled the cliffs, coasts and car parks from Bovey Tracey to Polperro. He had the tightest trousers, the stiffest quiff and the most generous 99s. Then Christmas Eve of 1976 he disappeared without word leaving only a trail of broken hearts and rusty motor oil in his wake.

This summer, thirty four years on, the Solero-Loco Mobile Disco, Ice Cream Emporium and Salon rattles back home creating more shockwaves in the little village of Bumpton Brompney than a raspberry ripple on a rollercoaster. Now Ackerley must face old flames, old rivals, an arthritic pelvis and a freezer containing a small confused Mariachi player who’s survived solely on a diet of Nobbly Bobblies since stowing away in Vera Cruz. Why did Ackerley disappear? Will he manage to win back the affections of his true love Judith? Will his Venga Boys customised jingle be just the job?

Featuring a large scoop of anarchy, a sprinkle of puppetry and a good squeeze of Mariachi disco, Scoop is a gaudy and gorgeous breakneck romantic comedy from to Bumpton Brompney and back again via Rio, Henry Mancini and a lot of raspberry sauce.
